Masterson’s Tavern , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , brands itself as a fashionable, contemporary hangout, but my recent visit at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I experienced behind its doors was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .
The Condition of the Premises : Filthy and Abandoned
From the moment I entered , it was apparent that sanitation was not a priority at this establishment . The surfaces were tacky , and a pungent odor of stale beer and neglected washrooms polluted the entire bar . With a smell of a mixture of human waste, putrefaction and sour vomit . The main bar, which should be the main attraction of any pub, was overflowing with soiled cups and trash that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The restroom was in even more deplorable shape — backed up, with a snapped lever and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was human waste .
